Below is a list of Snowdrop Events planned for the year.  As new events come to our attention, they will be posted here.


 
 
 

All February

Primrose Hill, Lucan, Co. Dublin
This is a magical natural garden full of snowdrops, crocus and cyclamen.
Home to Robin Hall, where many of the most famous Irish snowdrop cultivars have been found and named for family members and friends. Open daily from 2pm to dusk.

February 4th

"Snowdrop Gala & Other Spring Treasures"
Come and join us on our annual "Snowdrop Gala and Other Spring Treasures".  Click the Snowdrop Gala Image left to open the brochure and booking form.
A delightful day with guest speakers, three-course lunch, specialist nurseries and a guided tour of Altamont's snowdrop collection.
A day in the company of renowned gardeners and lecturers:

February
11th

Woodville Walled Garden, Kilchreest, Loughrea Co. Galway will open daily from 11am to 4pm for the month of February.
There are guided tours each day at 2 pm with the head gardener Marie looking at the varied snowdrop collection and early spring bulbs.  Snowdrop Event will take place on Saturday the 11th of February with guest speaker Assumpta Broomsfield. February 4th->

Burtown House & Gardens, Athy, Co. Kildare.
February is one of our favourite months here at Burtown. We have old and extensive well established displays of naturalised snowdrops in the garden and woodland, and all down the avenue, as well as about 60 varieties of more recently planted special snowdrops. Our aconites have, in 300 years spread into magnificent carpets of yellow, under trees and throughout the garden. We open from February 4th every Wednesday - Sunday, including Bank Holidays Mondays. 11.00am – 5.30pm. The Green Barn will also be open serving our full menu.

5th,
18th
& 19th

"Open Day"
Because many varieties are blooming early this year, Bellefield Gardens will be open on Sunday 5th as well as bothe Saturday & Sunday 18th and 19th February to view the splendid selection of Galanthus Varieites growing throughout the garden.  
The open days will feature a naming/identifying of varieties.  Besides being able to view Snowdrops in bloom, varieties will be on sale on the Open Days, among them will be G. elwesii "Marjorie Brown".

SNOWDROP FESTIVAL 2017
This event is being organised by Joze Bavcon - you may remember his most informational talk at Bellefield Gardens two years ago.
Anyone interested in being part of a group attending this event contact Angela Jupe at Bellefield asap.
The spring is slightly coming and nature starts to wake up! And among first flowers which are bringing spring joy to us are certainly snowdrops. Slovenia is country where they can be found almost everywhere, even in our capital Ljubljana! Also our Botanic Garden can be fully covered with them! Therefore University Botanic Gardens Ljubljana is preparing for you a Snowdrops Festival, where you will see the snowdrop collection of the Garden, you will participate at the lectures, snowdrop exhibitions and you could go to field excursion on Galanthus nivalis localities.
